Xian Di Guilai

Story
It's a good donghua so far. The story has potential and follows the typical cultivation genre.

Characterization
Characters are pretty interesting and mysterious to a point. The MC is pretty good; the most interesting character I find is the chaos spirit pet of the MC. Mostly, they are well-rounded.

Animation Quality
As a new donghua, this one has decent world-building and animation quality; it fits well with the story. Though it's just the first season, I find it pretty interesting.

Humor
About the sense of humor of the characters—I find it interesting, actually, but then again, it depends on the mood of the individual watching. Not all anime should be a ... full-time serious act, I guess. Give it a go with an open mind.

Three things I love about this donghua.

1. Humor! You rarely get humor in a donghua, but there are tons of funny moments in every episode that don't steal the show - like when a background character bemoans having a 30-year mortgage after the protagonist destroys it - bad guys turning into piles of dust in body outline fashion (which other bag guys accidentally inhale). Lots of little moments that make you smile or laugh out loud.
2. Demon Pet! A ferocious, super-strong beast is reduced to a fluffy, adorable cat monster after entering the mundane world. If that wasn't funny enough, ... its facial expressions are adorable, and whoever is voicing it has one of the best giggles I've ever heard. Honestly, like the Minions, I'd watch a spin-off with just the beast to see what it gets up to.
3. Mischevious Leads! Hallelujiah! Leads who don't walk around all betrayed or serious because of some past trauma or petty, contrived nastiness with everyone they meet. These leads are pretty relaxed, taking their time leveling up, sticking it to the pompous or cruel characters whenever they can, and just generally having a good time.

I really recommend you give it a shot when you're looking for something a little on the lighter side.

Not ofter it happens in chinese anime to destroy the mood of webnovel with stupid jokes but it happens and it happend in that piece of .. something. Very unfortunate, that person who animated that work probably wanted to be innovative but happen to destroy something that could have been a very good anime. High quality graphics, nice storyline and stupid joke that destroys mood.

Story is not very unique - classic return of cultivation master, art style is high quality with bad taste, characters are annoying due to bad jokes. Overall - Not recommended
