The main reason was that I felt like I was wasting too much time posting/lurking instead of actually doing something I enjoy doing or something more productive. Sort of a New Year's resolution I guess. A few other people in my friends list did the same so I was partially inspired by them.
I'm trying to lessen my time on forums in general, I used to be on 4chan quite a bit until the hack happened and revealed just how incompetent the people running that site are. Now I just browse /a/ and a few altchan imageboards every once in a while.
A lesser reason is also quite a bit of political shitflinging (both sides) and general toxicity especially in casual discussion from certain people and they were putting me in a bad mood.

reading your rant made me lower my score a bit, but plot holes, a mediocre ending and "woke" are not reasons to call it "the worst anime in the 2020s". there's loads of worse ones, even if you purely rate story. and if you don't, everything else like the animation, soundtrack etc. is excellent. i feel like it's mostly a personal grudge from you lol.

interesting. i also always watch subs, only with very rare exceptions like lazarus or edgerunners, which were made for the western market and are better in dub imo (loved lazarus btw, why did you give it 1 star). i usually watch like 8 anime at once, with most of them being currently airing and a few older ones
