Hello,
Since it is a bit troublesome to continue the discussion in the thread, I decided to leave a comment on your profile page instead.

This is my reply regarding your comment about “hanami culture.”

Regarding anime radio shows:

Awww dang man, well I'm very sorry to hear that I might not be hearing from you for a while. I understand though, I'm sure internet might be sparse over in that area. I wish you safe travels though. Stay safe brother! 💪 How long is it going to take you to reach your destination? 🤔

I never knew that monkey was popular to eat as a dish in your region, what would you say is the most popular monkey dish you guys have that's common? Y'all bet, I would love to barbecue some shark meat with some bullseye barbecue sauce that we have here in the states. Especially if it's tangy honey barbecue sauce. I am drooling as we speak! 🤩

Oh are you referring to Pepsi man on the PS1? From what I recall it was sort of like an auto runner correct? Not sure if I'm thinking about the same game as you are, but yes I am aware of that title. It's pretty fun and trippy, like most themed games from Japan at the time.

Ouch! I can't believe the road police got on you for your car driving too slow. I assume this isn't true right? I mean I do realize that accidents can happen in various ways, but more often than not it happens because the driver is speeding and not going slow. At least there's a rule of thumb anyway. What kind of rules did the road police end up changing on you by the way? And honestly I can't believe that that guy went to prison and his car was impounded, yet the police still say it was your fault. That is so unfair! Maybe it's just because you say accidents happen very often over there, makes me wonder who is running things. 😤

Sweet! Sounds like you're really gaining some traction in that game, I can tell you have a real love for it.

Shark is on my bucket list of seafood to eat, since I'm a huge seafood fan. Wow I have never eaten monkey before, or chimpanzees for that matter. What exactly does the meat taste like anyway? Can you describe it? 😯🤔
Retro8bit Nov 22, 2025 10:21 PM
Dang man, I wonder why in the world he would intentionally hit you like that. Do you feel that maybe he was trying to collect some insurance from you or something? Either way the whole ordeal sounds very very fishy, as if he planned it or something. Or maybe he was drunk? I know a lot of people over here don't know when to say when when it comes to booze. Sorry to hear you've been having this streak of bad luck though man, are vehicle accidents high in your region?

Wow, do you think with the cost being so high like that and you probably not wanting to drive your Mitsubishi in such a state, would it be worth it just to get a brand new car in general at that point? I remember we had talked about that in the past, maybe get yourself a nice used car. With the same Mitsubishi brand?

On a brighter note, have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

I don't blame you for feeling that way, I remember back in the day when Mortal Kombat first came out man it caused such an uproar and controversy because of its content. Have you ever heard of another game called night trap on the Sega CD? It too fell under the same scrutiny back then. I don't know for me personally I really would love to see a new Mortal Kombat done in a fresh drawn 2D art style, maybe even better if they could use digitize actors again. The 3D games have been fine don't get me wrong, but I would really love to see it go back to its roots. What do you think?

I agree, Panasonic died way too early in the video game market. Did you ever get a chance to play Sub-Zero mythology? It was actually a pretty interesting experience, clunky yes but I actually kind of like that game. Seeing those cutscenes in the original PS1 version was a real treat. The N64 version was basically the same just without the cool cutscenes.

Yeah pretty much, deer tastes better when it's soaked in vinegar to get rid of the gamey taste. I've never eaten shark before, what does that taste like? I have tried deep fried alligator though, very tasty!

Oh dang dude was that a real monkey? I couldn't tell at first but I'm not sure which way to come to a conclusion on that. O.O

Oh heck yeah man always always! We used to go camping and fishing up in the mountains when I was a teenager, the air was so fresh and crisp and they even had this nice restaurant that served elk burgers. Was the first time I ever ate one, kind of tasted like a regular burger in my opinion but a bit more chewy. Have you ever eaten any kind of exotic meats like that? I like deer a lot too so long as I can soak it in vinegar.

Oh yeah PC games were all the rage back in the '90s, I played a bunch of them. I think my favorite by far is a horror game called harvester. Not for the faint of heart because it does do a lot of things unpolitically correct if you get my drift, but it's a lot of fun.

As for Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, yes I played them quite a bit actually. Do I played more of the older titles and kind of lost interest once the franchises went into 3D. There was a great documentary that a US channel here called G4TV did back in the day. I'll post a link for you, it's dated by today's standards as it was made sometime around 2004 or so. Still pretty interesting however. Here you go:

Sure man, I have no problem at all doing some male bonding here! XD

Well as far back as I can remember I am told that I am half German half Spanish, as my mother was almost full German, while my dad was Spanish with a little bit of Mexican in him. As for my hobbies I enjoy very similar things as you said, I love going fishing and camping. Do I haven't done it in a very long time. Fishing has always been one of my favorite pastimes just because of how relaxing it can be, even if you don't catch anything sometimes just hearing the nice Brooke and streams are enough to make it all worthwhile. One of my favorite places to go is a local fishing spot that has a cafe there that sells elk burgers. Taste really good too. Basically it's just a regular cheeseburger but a bit more gamey. They even have a contest there where if you're able to finish a $50 meal within half an hour, you get the meal free and a picture of yourself posted on the board. That the cheeseburger is the size of a small pizza, you get literally a bucket of fries and a whole pie with a large drink. I'd love to be able to attempt it someday.

Oh by the way speaking of which, what are some of your favorite retro games? I don't know if we've ever discussed this before. 🤔
Retro8bit Nov 6, 2025 7:08 PM
Gotcha! Sounds like you have a pretty rich history over there man. I got to admit I was always curious about where you were from, at first I thought it was here in the US but the longer we started talking the more it seemed that wasn't so. Do you know any other languages other than English then? I know you said you didn't know French. So I was curious.

Yes I do remember you talking about that awful situation during a Halloween event. I can totally understand why you wouldn't want to revisit those memories again, or at the very least risk revisiting those memories again. So not partaking in Halloween events probably is better for you, you really don't need that sort of stress in your life.

Thanks buddy! The way I spent my Halloween was hanging out with some friends at my house while we watch spooky movies and ate candy. Random question but kind of related what we were talking about, do you have a favorite candy bar? XD
Retro8bit Nov 1, 2025 6:46 PM
Dude I don't think I have ever asked you this, and I hope you don't mind me asking. But what part of the world are you from? At first I assumed you were from the US but now it sounds like you might live on the opposite end of the world from me I get the feeling. If you don't feel comfortable telling me I completely understand, you just got me curious.

Hearing all of those cartoon shows and different languages must have been really something. I get the feeling you might know multiple languages am I right? As for candy candy I've had to find it via different methods on different websites. Kind of piecing it together like a puzzle. Internet archives for instance actually has the first two episodes dubbed in English from what I recall, yet not a whole lot else on there. Though it has been a while so maybe things have changed.

By the way happy belated Halloween brother! Do you celebrate it?
Retro8bit Oct 30, 2025 9:42 PM
Oh wow! I did know that candy candy was dubbed in different countries in the world, sadly though not here in the US and English as far as I know. Though I have seen one or two episodes that appear to be English dubbed, which perplexes me even more. Perhaps it's lost media. The version of candy candy that you ended up growing up with, what language was that in?

Hmmm to my knowledge no I don't think I am blocked from downloading torrents, at least not the last time I did. Though honestly with censorship getting a whole lot heavier these days it wouldn't surprise me if those times are getting closer and closer. Does your region suffer from this?
Retro8bit Oct 29, 2025 8:05 PM
It is such a great show! Tell me, what channel did they use to show candy candy back when you watched it? I remember it being on a Spanish Channel here locally. I don't understand the language but I used to still watch it and enjoy the antics for what they were.

Oh by the way speaking of which have you had a chance to watch the newest Demon Slayer movie? I heard it's been breaking records in the box office for anime films. O.O

As for watching anime in Europe I'm afraid I can't answer that, because I live in the United States. I never heard any of that before, however if you are curious to know I do have some friends from Europe that I can ask for you if you want? Let me know buddy. 🤗
Retro8bit Oct 28, 2025 5:06 PM
Dang bro that sounds like some pretty fancy threads you're wearing there, those prices! I assume you are really into stylish clothes? Me I just wear what's on sale and comfortable, a lot of sweatpants around the house. XD

Lately I've been going back and watching some anime from the 1970s. I still want to finish Candy Candy because I have no idea where I left off on. Been watching a lot of mahou shoujo from this era. What have you been watching buddy?
Retro8bit Oct 23, 2025 8:19 PM
Wow man, honestly I don't even know how to react to something like that. I'm very sorry that you had to go through such an ordeal. I swear all of these individuals just jump to conclusions without knowing the full story. At the very least I'm glad that nothing became of that situation, and I wouldn't have trusted our judicial system to help much in the matter. Hopefully you never have to go through an ordeal like that again. As I stated earlier, I'm so sorry you had to go through something like that. :(

On a lighter note, what did you dress up as when you went to the party?
Retro8bit Oct 16, 2025 11:51 PM
Wow man, well I certainly hope you're able to get through this. I don't know if I've ever asked you this question before but if you were to sell your Mitsubishi, what would you get as a second vehicle? Any certain makes or models you'd be having your eye on all this time?

Also, got any plans for Halloween?
Retro8bit Oct 11, 2025 4:56 PM
Hey no sweat buddy! I know how bad that spam can be, especially on this website. Seems like these bots spawn faster than we can report them. XD

What the heck? What is it that people have against your Mitsubishi so bad? Dang bro sorry to hear you had to go through all this, though I'm glad to hear the money was found. I'm assuming your family didn't believe this third party person though right?

Wow that is quite the dilemma though, seems like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Are you just going to sell your Mitsubishi eventually?
