The end of an era.
First off, production-wise, it is the best the series has ever been since season 2. Since the last season, the animation quality has improved, but this season is even more of an improvement with explosive fights, better sakuga, and art direction. The music, whether new, remixed, or reused from previous seasons, is great and elevates the experience by a lot. The story finishes off what started in the previous season, with this season having arguably some of the highest peaks in the series. The climax of the series is one that stays true to what it is about and delivers emotionally with an amazing payoff for the protagonist and supporting cast. The epilogue was well-paced, and didn't drag or rush. The ending was polarizing, but it ends in a way that makes sense for the series and its core themes of heroism, sacrifice, and inspiring people, whether in hopeless situations or not. As my second ever anime series, it quickly became a favorite of mine. As someone who binged it from seasons 1 to 6, then watched weekly since the start of season 7, I think this season is my favorite and will be hard to forget. It was fun watching and waiting for each episode, but now the journey has come to an end.
