Perhaps my rating will be a little controversial for some people, mainly because I know many expected more from this second season. Still, to be completely honest, I really enjoyed Goblin Slayer II. Much of this comes from the immense affection I have for the universe of the work, especially since I already knew parts of the original material and the manga, which further expand this world.
One of the things I like most about Goblin Slayer is precisely the concept of the story. Unlike many fantasy anime where the protagonist is "the chosen one," destined to defeat the demon king and save the world, here we have a much more human and limited character. The Goblin Slayer is not the legendary hero of prophecy. He is just an adventurer obsessed with exterminating goblins, creatures that are usually seen as small and insignificant threats by stronger adventurers.
And that's exactly what makes the work so interesting to me.
While the great heroes are busy facing gigantic threats, wars, and demons, Goblin Slayer fights to protect small villages, ordinary families, and people who would be completely forgotten in this world. The work constantly conveys the feeling that the world keeps turning regardless of whether the protagonist exists or not. There are bigger adventures happening elsewhere, but he chose to focus on the "smaller" problem because he understands the suffering caused by goblins better than anyone.
This idea makes the universe feel extremely alive.
The second season continues to explore this well, in addition to developing the protagonist's companions better. I really enjoyed seeing the interactions between the group, especially because now they seem much closer and more experienced together. The relationship between the characters conveys a genuine sense of camaraderie built after several battles and traumatic situations.
I also really like how Goblin Slayer manages to balance brutality with lighter moments. Despite the dark atmosphere and heavy violence, there are calm and even comfortable scenes involving the characters in their daily lives. These moments greatly help create attachment to the group and make the dangers even more impactful when they arise.
Regarding the animation, I admit it's far from technically impressive. It's not a season known for its absurd fluidity or visually revolutionary scenes. However, honestly, I completely bought into the visual style of the work. The character and creature designs remain very interesting, and the art direction maintains that dark and oppressive tone that perfectly matches the universe.
The setting works very well precisely because Goblin Slayer never tried to look like an extremely colorful epic fantasy. The focus here is on conveying tension, grime, danger, and discomfort. At various moments, the direction manages to create a heavy atmosphere using only lighting, silence, and simple settings.
The soundtrack also greatly contributes to the immersion. It's not extremely memorable individually, but it works very well accompanying the scenes of exploration, combat, and tension. It was enough to make me even more involved in that universe.
I think part of the reason I like this season so much is because I really bought into the work's premise from the beginning. I was really looking forward to a sequel, and when it finally arrived, I was able to thoroughly enjoy what was delivered. Of course, I recognize that the season could have been better in some technical aspects and perhaps even in the pacing of certain arcs, but even so, I had a lot of fun watching it.
In fact, I've already rewatched this season several times and I still really enjoy the experience. This shows how well this universe works for me. There's something very satisfying about following simple strategies, brutal survival, and smaller adventures within such a well-structured fantasy world.
I highly recommend it to fans of dark fantasy, adventure, and medieval RPGs. Although it's not exactly a traditional epic adventure anime, it delivers a very engaging experience for those who enjoy dangerous worlds, brutal combat, and more "down-to-earth" protagonists.
The violence is heavy at various points, but it's also precisely part of the work's identity. Goblin Slayer manages to transform creatures normally seen as weak into truly terrifying threats, and this makes each confrontation tense and fun to watch.
My final score is 9/10. Despite some issues, it was a sequel that completely captivated me once again within the universe of the work.

Uma continuação que me prendeu ainda mais ao universo da obra.
Talvez minha nota seja um pouco controversa para algumas pessoas, principalmente porque sei que muita gente esperava mais dessa segunda temporada. Ainda assim, sendo completamente sincero, eu gostei bastante de Goblin Slayer II. Muito disso vem do enorme carinho que tenho pelo universo da obra, especialmente por já conhecer partes do material original e do mangá, que expandem ainda mais esse mundo.
Uma das coisas que mais gosto em Goblin Slayer é justamente o conceito da história. Diferente de vários animes de fantasia onde o protagonista é “o escolhido”, destinado a derrotar o rei demônio e salvar o mundo, aqui temos um personagem muito mais humano e limitado. O Goblin Slayer não é o herói lendário da profecia. Ele é apenas um aventureiro obcecado em exterminar goblins, criaturas que normalmente são vistas como ameaças pequenas e insignificantes pelos aventureiros mais fortes.
E é exatamente isso que torna a obra tão interessante para mim.
Enquanto os grandes heróis estão ocupados enfrentando ameaças gigantescas, guerras e demônios, Goblin Slayer luta para proteger vilas pequenas, famílias comuns e pessoas que seriam completamente esquecidas nesse mundo. A obra passa constantemente a sensação de que o mundo continua girando independentemente do protagonista existir ou não. Existem aventuras maiores acontecendo em outros lugares, mas ele escolheu focar no problema “menor”, porque entende o sofrimento causado pelos goblins melhor do que qualquer um.
Essa ideia deixa o universo extremamente vivo.
A segunda temporada continua explorando bem isso, além de trabalhar melhor os companheiros do protagonista. Gostei bastante de ver as interações entre o grupo, especialmente porque agora eles parecem muito mais próximos e experientes juntos. A relação entre os personagens transmite uma sensação genuína de companheirismo construída após várias batalhas e situações traumáticas.
Também gosto muito de como Goblin Slayer consegue equilibrar brutalidade com momentos mais leves. Apesar do clima sombrio e da violência pesada, existem cenas calmas e até confortáveis envolvendo os personagens no cotidiano. Esses momentos ajudam bastante a criar apego pelo grupo e tornam os perigos ainda mais impactantes quando surgem.
Sobre a animação, admito que ela está longe de ser impressionante tecnicamente. Não é uma temporada conhecida por ter uma fluidez absurda ou cenas visualmente revolucionárias. Porém, sinceramente, eu consegui comprar totalmente o estilo visual da obra. Os designs dos personagens e das criaturas continuam muito interessantes, e a direção artística mantém aquele tom escuro e opressivo que combina perfeitamente com o universo.
A ambientação funciona muito bem justamente porque Goblin Slayer nunca tentou parecer uma fantasia épica extremamente colorida. O foco aqui é transmitir tensão, sujeira, perigo e desconforto. Em vários momentos a direção consegue criar uma atmosfera pesada apenas usando iluminação, silêncio e cenários simples.
A trilha sonora também ajuda bastante na imersão. Ela não é extremamente memorável individualmente, mas funciona muito bem acompanhando as cenas de exploração, combate e tensão. Foi o suficiente para me deixar ainda mais envolvido naquele universo.
Acho que parte do motivo de eu gostar tanto dessa temporada é porque eu realmente comprei a proposta da obra desde o início. Eu estava muito ansioso por uma continuação e, quando ela finalmente chegou, consegui aproveitar bastante o que foi entregue. Claro, reconheço que a temporada poderia ter sido melhor em alguns aspectos técnicos e talvez até no ritmo de certos arcos, mas mesmo assim me diverti muito assistindo.
Inclusive, já revi essa temporada várias vezes e continuo gostando bastante da experiência. Isso mostra o quanto esse universo funciona para mim. Existe algo muito satisfatório em acompanhar estratégias simples, sobrevivência brutal e aventuras menores dentro de um mundo de fantasia tão bem estruturado.
Recomendo bastante para fãs de fantasia sombria, aventura e RPG medieval. Apesar de não ser exatamente um anime tradicional de aventura épica, ele entrega uma experiência muito envolvente para quem gosta de mundos perigosos, combates brutais e protagonistas mais “pé no chão”.
