This movie tells you literally nothing. It was most definitely created without consulting any women or people who experienced SA. It’s just sad for the sake of being sad. I am most cross with media that has astonishing visuals and just pours all its beauty down the drain of storytelling.
Also I absolutely despise that husband dude, Jaque. He didn’t deserve a single good thing. Any woman, any human, at this point. Just a piece of scum in every possible way. Let’s not forget that he was the greatest villain of this story and the greatest “sinner” too.
If you want a better version of the same theme I recommend watching “The Witch” by Robert Eggers or “Kite”.
