Preliminary (100/? chp)
this story is white bread: pretty good, will leave you satisfied, but not as interesting as it can be. we follow the protagonist Shinichi as he has to deal with his teasing friend Uzaki Chan as they make their way through university. it can be basically summed up as a "legal" oppai loli teasing the senpai protagonist but is actually in love with him. similar manic pixie dream girls have been done better in other stories.

story: 6/10

the story is very mellow and simple; it is a slow burn of the relationship between the co-protagonists Hana Uzaki and Shinichi Sakurai. it does sidetrack in the later chapters though, giving attention to other characters. these stories are hit and miss, usually revolving around members of the Uzaki family, and their romantic subplots.

character: 7/10

the character roster is pretty large, but most of the good ones are part of the Uzaki family: the dad is a gym bro, the mom is super horny but is projecting it, the sister is a shipper, and the brother is a Shota that likes older women. I'm not a big fan of Shinichi. he is meant to be the strong but actually soft inside archetype. they are trying to make him more interesting in later chapters, but I still think he is bland character meant to stall relationship progression.
overall, they still do a pretty good job with the core cast, even making the male characters fun, with is a rarity for these seasonal waifu Mangas.

except Sasamoto. fuck that loser.

art: 6/10
the art style is fine, balancing slice of life with ecchi and comedy. with the main girl uzaki being the center of attention for fanservice and funny expressions. but the pages feel empty:
-the physical manga pages are larger than average
-the drawings do not go to the edge, which is normal but the gap between the art and the edges of the pages is noticeable.
-the drawing quality is average weekly releases
even though the there is nothing wrong with the art itself, this results in the pages feeling a bit too empty or less detailed than they actually are, like zooming in on a photo when the resolution was not made for that.

enjoyment: 6/10

it's pretty fun at first, seeing Uzaki being a little menace, but over time it starts to get boring, especially when other anime waifus fill similar roles. even then, the story is just not as fun when Uzaki is not on the page, it is too reliant on her, and I don't really care about the other characters to keep me invested. the only side character I do like, Hana's brother Kiri, is not given the time needed for his story to shine. they want to stretch out the story, but they not want to go too off track and make a completely new one.

overall: 6/10

pretty fun to read in your spare time, just don't excerpt groundbreaking story telling or art. it is a middle of the road story, not bad, not good. it feels like the story should end sooner, and make the side plots their own story, rather than stretching it out as long as possible.

if you are into teasing brats then I recommend "Don't toy with me, Miss Nagatoro": it very similar but the dynamic is more intense, with the female protagonists Nagatoro being MERCILESS in her teasing, bordering on bullying, and sometimes just being bullying. this is countered by the male protagonist "Senpai", who is much more unassertive than Shinichi and that makes it all the better when he tries to assert dominance.
