It is truly terrific to see the kids of Class 1A grown and successful, and seeing how their interactions have matured or haven't. This episode focuses mostly on the main characters of the class, the ones we really followed from start to finish. We get to see their expanded ending, the epilogue that I didn't really think the story needed until I saw it.
The closest thing I can compare this to is the finale OVA of Steins;Gate. The similarity is that while the ending of the final episodes was good and felt like closure, the OVA finale feels like it truly completes that.
That said, this does just feel like another extra episode of the anime. It doesnt contain anything truly new or offer any kind of expanded context about the world or the story. It just feels like an epilogue to the series. One that I'm happy that I saw but one that you might not necessarily feel like the series needed. If you already weren't satisfied with how My Hero Academia ended, well I dont think OVA will change how you see it.
