I’ve read a lot of trash isekai and this is the worse of them all.
This was the only offline content I had in a place with poor connection. That’s the only reason I read 3 volumes of this.
The characters: worst I’ve ever seen. The protagonist is clearly not a villager any more, he just has that tag on him. But still he gets straight up offended whenever someone thinks he’s weak because he’s a villager and stops talking to them.
The protagonist is a buffoon most of the time and then suddenly he’s a genius tactician. His partner gets angry because he misunderstands other people’s capabilities since they are all ants to him. Just 2 days later, she gets all emotional and angry when somebody thinks he is overestimating them. “Ryouto will never give you a task you can’t handle.” T-T
The protagonist doesn’t have a single male friend. All the male characters are either villains, or trash mob, or overpowered boss. The female characters are shallow and don’t have an iota of originality. They all just love him dearly.
The dialogues are unbearable. By the end of vol 3, I was only reading dialogues and skipping the text in between. It was still exhausting. The dialogue is him keeping the other people guessing ALL THE TIME. “But if we do than then something bad will happen, what then?” x30 times. And it ends with him saying “I’ll just crush them all.” The rest is the girls simping on him or other people underestimating / fearing him.
The pacing is erratic. We don’t get any insights and the protagonist suddenly gets stronger after 2 years. We just get 40 pages of the soliloquy of the girl who got left behind. Event, time skip, event time skip. No idea what happens in the journey. No adventure. No slice of life. Just bad dialogues and inconsistent characters.
It is hard to believe that some business reviewed this novel, allotted manpower to translate it, and then decided to sell it to get a profit.
Recommended if you like to torture yourself.
