As a series I like the concept of the plot and characters, but I can't help but finding the overall writing and pacing to be desired. It feels like there was a first arc which was supposed to introduce the world and characters but got scrapped at the last minute. Storylines feel rushed and like they are missing the set up necessary for a story to function. The art itself is fairly standard for a modern shonen but nothing to particularly write home about.

Overall it's not bad, but the ghost of what could have been haunts this manga.I can see the outline of something which could have been a real replacement for Ao No exorcist, but what is currently on page falls flat.
