BECK es una narración en primera persona (mixta) que funciona como una autobiografía juvenil melancólica, donde el ritmo lento busca reflejar el crecimiento personal más que el simple ascenso al estrellato de una banda indie. Me gustó que no esconda la sexualidad incipiente de su protagonista y que los conflictos (deudas, peleas, problemas legales) tengan soluciones rápidas pero creíbles dentro de su tono de ensueño; sin embargo, comparado con otros animes musicales, hay muy pocas canciones y el doblaje en inglés resulta básico e incómodo, lo cual decepciona mucho si buscas una serie que viva de su música.
