5-toubun no Hanayome∽

More pieces from the manga got animated, in this case by Shaft Studio with a solid animation and an extremely Catchy and Beautiful new Opening plus a really cute new Ending, a new segment for every sister and one of the most important for Yotsuba.

This is it, this is the thing that was missing in Season 2 and even in the Movie, a lot of things didn't really make sense for anime only people just because Bibury Studios decided not to animate one of the most important manga chapter and even rush some other ones, but now a lot of dots start to connect with ... each other in this last segment of this/these chapters.

Animation got an extreme upgrade from all of the previous Seasons and Movie, Really Good, Consistent and more Faithful manga designs which i really appreciate.

Sound and Voice Acting was absolutely on point, truly something made with Love and Passion.

I enjoyed this/these chapters a lot, as i said before every sister got a dedicated scene and all of them are really, really enjoyable, truly shows how the characters actually are.

Overall i'll rate it a 10/10, as i said before this is something that Season 2 or Movie should've adapted too, but thanks to the old Studio not doing it Shaft gave us this Amazing Special/Extra that Beautifully animated one of the most important chapter of the whole manga (🍀Chapter 90🍀).

If you didn't read the manga i'll recommend you to watch this after Season 2 and before the Movie.

This is what the quintuplets should have been from the beginning.

I dare say it's the best-animated work related to the quintuplets to date.
You can clearly see the love and care poured into this franchise; the details are meticulously handled, to the point of being surprising.

As for the plot, I can only say that with this expansion, there should be no doubts about why a certain sister is the winner. This element should have been present in the second season or, at the very least, mentioned in the movie, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. I'm glad they didn't overlook it.

Furthermore, the rest of the ... girls also have their development, just what I hoped to see: Miku's growth after her confession in Kyoto, Nino's determination to fight to the end, and Itsuki's efforts to avoid discomfort to protect her sisters.

Personally, I think some important elements were missing, but that's not a complaint. Perhaps there will be more animated projects in the future, or maybe not, which would be a shame.

Regarding the animation, words fall short to describe how magnificent it is.
Shaft Studio has done an incredible job, from the color palette to the quality of the artwork, camera movements, and, of course, the fluidity of the animation. However, I must mention that the backgrounds are quite static, which takes away some magic from certain scenes, as it feels odd to see one or two characters animated so well while the rest remain as still as stones.

The soundtrack, both principal and the background music, is exceptional. I would dare say the opening is the best in the entire franchise, and the ending is very comforting. The background music tracks fit perfectly and evoke the essence of the first season, which I greatly appreciate.

As for the characters, they haven't undergone significant changes, but their thoughts and the reasons behind their actions have been delved into, something I missed in the movie. It's fun to see the sisters getting along without constant fighting, and, of course, Fuutaro acting like a high school boy and not a bitter guy who only studies.

Without a doubt, this is a special that I highly recommend. It's made with love and preserves the essence of the franchise.
If you're a fan of the quintuplets, you'll enjoy it immensely, regardless of which sister is your favorite.

Very satisfactory extra episode to fill out the series, and takes a refreshing route of providing more warm interactions with the cast rather than just being another fanservice special. This should be perfectly fine to watch after either of the TV seasons.

Plot-wise it is fairly straightforward, going through a few different scenes with the girls and Futarou. Nino gets a whole segment to herself, but the rest get their fair share of quality screen time (Miku fans may have a happy heart attack too). Overall it’s very enjoyable to see all of them again, and I would say the highlight of this is interactions ... over visual fanservice. But there’s still a beach segment. Enjoy the speedo bro.

Visually speaking it’s at least on par with the TV seasons, although of course Shaft injected a little of their trademark unique style into how scenes were portrayed (plus an unnecessarily well-animated OP, at least check that out on YouTube). Their style is however kept restrained to a tasteful amount to only enhance the comedy or character interactions, making sure not to take over too much of the focus. Other than that, it's well animated and faithfully replicates the artstyle.

While this doesn’t have any vital content that can’t be skipped, this is still a great addition to what was presented in the TV seasons. Well worth the watch.

Finally, my favorite manga of all time gets the quality adaptation it deserved. It's a shame that they're just basically gathering up the scraps that Bibury left out of their rushed and incomprehensible movie, but Shaft makes the most of those scraps and then some. This adaptation actually makes me appreciate the fact that the manga's best chapter (Chapter 90) was excluded from the movie, because there is no way it would have been able to be adapted this perfectly without the existence of these specials. The only negative to these specials is that they show the incredible potential that a 5toubun no Hanayome anime ... had, and that makes the previous adaptations all the more disappointing. Nevertheless, fans of the manga will most likely find these episodes to be amazing, and I highly highly recommend them to anyone who likes 5toubun (especially the manga). Like a good anime should do, this adaptation ascends even further than the manga itself and becomes, in my opinion, the best piece of content ever put out related to this series. I wish there was more. 10/10.

Animation worthy of the work, finally. And it is clear that very significant moments were adapted for the main story and that if they had done it this way from the beginning, the reception of the anime and its ending could have been different.

Furthermore, being able to see the quintuplets interacting with Fuutarou is great again, with emphasis as always on Miku and Nino.

I still see hope for the author to redeem himself with more episodes and I will always continue to root for an alternative ending in which everyone ends up happy, even without having been chosen.

Wrote a review from the movie and thought it was going to be the last time we see our girls but thank God I was wrong.

The movie was the cherry on top and this ova was me devouring it all. As a non-manga reader, the sequence of how they released the anime was spot on. Because for those who hated the ending of the movie explains everything why Fuutaro chose Yotsuba. Specifically about the scene with yotsuba near to the end. The stories were connecting throughout the flashbacks we see. The ... little details with what Yotsuba was doing bts. And Fuutaro liking Yotsuba for being herself. Its a different feeling from the other girls. They would have their moments, but never made him attracted to them, he would be shy or blushing but never romantically. He feels more comfortable once we see them together with Yotsuba. Like that playground swing scene. The other girls tried their best, but Fuutaro decided he had only one girl in mind.

Also, Yotsuba letting her sisters freely go after him while doing nothing herself shows how Yotsuba was feeling, and throughout the series summarized how important her sisters and fuutaro are to her, and it gave me a lot more respect to Yotsuba. Even as a hardcore Nino stan, you gotta respect her after watching that scene.

Okay, now back to talking about the ova generally, It was nice that they included parts that were not included in the series/movie. It made me happy seeing them again, enjoyed every bit of it. Gives us more content to cope so we can enjoy them for the last time. Overall its a 9.4/10 probably because it was too short but enjoyable.

Shoutout also for the hard work and production to animate this series. Tezuka productions, Bibury Animation Studio, Shaft, and the mastermind Negi Haruba. All of us would like to give thanks for the incredible journey you have given us. Would recommend to others to witness the goat of harem anime and will forever be an all-time favorite for me.

From that small cliffhanger, Hopefully they come back but I doubt it. Wish more to come for our girls and Fuutaro ^-^

Pleeeeaaseee we are all begging for more!!!!

Actually I'm just regret about the animation because the production decision that choose to made a movie than the new series of last season. That's why I was sad and disappointment about the movie even they're successfully made it beautiful. Then when I noticed about GnH special featuring by TBS Animation with a another studio, my opinion about that is absolutely amazing for me and that's more heartwarming and affected about Yotsuba's and sisters conflict development than the movie before that was seemly hurried.

So, I have an another hope once again to TBS and Shaft a studio had done it, make a last series ... that's started from Bunkansai event until the last chapter of manga (that's a weeding event). Maybe you could be the best drama-romance anime ever.

Statistically speaking, I am almost certain (I haven't checked shit) that merchandise for this series has sold exponentially higher than anything we have ever seen for the romance genre. The Quintuplets fanbase isn't huge on Anilist or Myanimelist but rest assured, this series has a massive following. On top of that, its fans take it seriously, true die-hard supporters who love the series with all their heart. I would like to think I'm not as delusional but this is one of my favorite series of all time, period. I understand the ending rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and made them ultimately dislike ... the series, due to the ending. I can understand why, even if I don't necessarily understand. BUT, look back on the series. If you truly enjoyed it enough to sit through both series and get to the movie and ending, it's time you gave the series a second chance (unless you loved it of course).

When I say this, I'm not saying you should like the series even if you didn't like the ending, nor am I trying to convince you to reconsider your opinion of the series. The whole reason I say the series deserves a second chance is because I feel that so many people turned their back on the series that it left the animators stuck between a rock and a hard place. (SPOILER WARNING, but I mean, surely you have seen/read the series if you are considering watching this) People who were mad that Yotusba won complained that she didn't have any screentime, wasn't foreshadowed well and didn't get enough development with her relationship with Futaro period. On the other hand, the Miku and Nino fans would have ultimately dropped the series prematurely if it became evident that Yotsuba was gonna win, which would have been inevitable if she randomly started getting a lot of panels in the manga, and screentime in the anime. I'm not blaming Yotsuba haters or Miku or Nino fans here, nor am I blaming the studio. It's just the way it goes in a harem. Unless you go for the polyamorous route (which nobody would have liked), something has to be sacrificed. For that reason, I don't think the series should be written off ENTIRELY because of something that is simply an inherent flaw of the genre. Imagine the scenes if Miku or Nino won, the opposite fanbase would go even more ballistic. I want to reiterate, i'm not trying to argue against or convince people who didn't like the series because of the ending. The ending matters. I agree. However, I think that people have greatly overreacted to the ending, it certainly isn't one of the worst ones of all time.

Shaft goes for fanservice here, big surprise. I mean the series already ended but they are animating extra chapters, of course it's a cash grab. But the animation is top-notch, on par with Monogatari one could say. As I mentioned previously, the animators are stuck in a tough situation where they have to provide development for the seemingly random and arbitrary Yotsuba victory while satiating the desire of Miku and Nino viewers to come back to watch this special despite losing out to Yotsuba. This movie/special does just that, it gives Miku and Nino their screentime with Futaro to start, showcasing their cute and loveable characters, then seamlessly transitioning into the heartfelt Yotsuba segment, and how they met years ago as well as her feelings for Futaro which she locked away in favor of giving her sisters a chance, just like how they gave her a chance after her academic failure at her previous school. When it's all said and done, this movie/special can make everyone happy. All it needs is a chance. If you have seen/read Quintuplets, watch this. It's only 50 or so minutes and provides everyone with entertainment, even if the series may have left a bad taste in your mouth. I didn't like some of the fanservice, I felt like those were the wrong chapters to animate and made the characters not themselves in a way. It's still one of my favorite series' tho and this special gets the job done for everybody I am ultimately quite pleased even if they simply reopened the series just to make a few extra dollars. Final Score: 8/10; thank you for reading!

This made me like Yotsuba a lot more, all these important scenes with her, usually taking place in what would be a small camera pan away, were removed from the main show to avoid spoilers and selectively show you stuff for the sake of the plot.

When finishing the movie before this, something felt a bit off about the main character's choice, she wasn't my least favourite but she was close to being last, mainly I didn't feel any sort of "childhood friend" vibe, it felt weird she didnt reveal who she was earlier in the series, this OVA fixes both of those problems by ... showing us all the things Yotsuba had been doing in secret.

Now I can definitely say Yotsuba's at least number 2 for me now. She was 2nd to last before, with Ichika being last because shes manipulative, which isn't bad when speaking about anime characters, but her MO seemed really childish/selfish. It'll be difficult for Yotsuba to beat Nino though, need to sit on it for a bit. Yotsuba has a big edge by the fact she's voiced by the same VA as Tsubaki from Your Lie in April, so I can't help but have a soft spot for her whenever she sounds depressed about her first crush being taken away from her. Good choice of Seiyuu I would say.

Super important to watch, do not skip!

Possibly one of the only specials to a series you can truly call special. While it is filled with some needless fan service, and while it is just a two episode special, this is more of the phenomenal storytelling we gladly received in the second half of season two.

I was waiting for Yotsuba’s background to be realized and was fairly disappointed with the minimal attention she was getting throughout the show, especially being the most emotionally compelling character in the show. This is exactly what I wanted to see in the past two seasons, and it is wonderfully delivered in a nostalgic, stylistic way ... as typical of Shaft.

Why couldn’t Shaft animate the whole show? This has possibly the best episode in the show and it’s just from their two episode run. Not only that, the opening and ending are wonderfully crafted. Alongside the already fantastic voice acting, Shafts stylistic touch adds so much more life to the show. Considering the flashback filled nature of this special, it’s no wonder Shaft is such an excellent choice. It all builds that nostalgia until we are left on the final depressing shot. I haven’t even got to mention the improvements with the soundtrack, there is much more care going into this show than I realized.

There was no time wasted getting into the meat, and all we are left with is the tragic feeling of being alone. The final shot of Yotsuba on the swing was utterly brilliant. The urge to call out on your desires, do what you want to do, alongside the limits you set for yourself. She only wants her sisters to be happy, to keep a family happy. She looks over at the houses below and swings, alone.

What a great special. A meticulously planned story of love. Don’t skimp out on these two episodes.

This is a couple episodes that were made as they featured in the manga and didn’t get into the show.

I cant really think of a place to put this OVA in chronologically to make much sense as it doesn’t really do anything for the plot of the show so watch it wherever you’d want as long as it’s after the first season and before the final movie and it’ll be fine

That being said it had its normal show vibe and shine which is nice and was enjoyable but only 2 episodes sadly as I wanted more but obviously the show has concluded as ... a whole it was good and I’ll gladly take more content from this any day

Okay, so
what more can I say than that it's quite simple, it just shows what they did during their vacation-their meetings at the beach, etc.
Of course, it's quite simple, but it's not bad either.

This would be entirely true if it weren't for the last 8 minutes or so of episode 2.
Because of them, I honestly recommend watching it before the movie (because that would make it chronological).
What Yutsuba says at the end is quite important and is a big "spoiler" and a clue to some of the things we learn ... in the movie.
And that's the main reason why it's still worth watching if you want to know more.
Not gonna lie, even if you are seeing the special after the movie, it can still change a lot about your perception of Yutuba.

The experience of this special was pleasant in general, especially highlighting the quality of the animation. Additionally, the episode provided a small dose of fan service.
The animation turned out to be surprisingly good, it is quite reminiscent of what was seen in the last chapters of the anime, although it feels a little different, and in my opinion, of better quality; The opening was very nice, even a little nostalgic.
Despite these positive aspects, it is important to note that the special does not add "essential" elements to the overall plot of the series. Rather, it feels like an added episode that's appreciated being produced, but ... doesn't provide fundamental critical value; However, viewing is recommended.
It is evident that the original manga is not as long as others, which may have limited the content available for the anime adaptation, although of course, it is also impossible to deny that they omitted a lot of content that makes no sense to have omitted in the first place; The truth is that it feels like they ended the main anime much sooner than necessary, which is strange considering how abysmally successful this franchise has been, even today.
The omission of that content from the main anime has left some fans wishing for a more complete adaptation. Therefore, dedicating a single special episode to this successful franchise seems insufficient. Although it is encouraging to know that the series remains relevant through visual novel-style games and other products, it would not be strange to see them release another special chapter, if so, I still do not understand why they could not adapt one of the alternate endings/routes that they have so much liked by fans in visual novels.
I do not omit to note that a notable effort was made to include previously omitted content, probably with the intention of providing greater meaning to the anime´s finale. This attempt to improve it is appreciated and I do not deny that it´s full of poweful emotions. However, despite the efforts made to expand the narrative, the conclution stills feeling rushed, of poor quality and, above all, gives the impression of having been a hasty decision at the very close of the work; for that reason, it makes even more sense to adapt alternative routes.
In summary, the special episode was a nice addition, but the overall feeling is that it could have offered more to enrich the fan experience and the overall story - it feels more like a reminder that the franchise exists, rather than an added element. vitally important. With its continued success, I hope the quintuplets franchise returns in some special episode in the future.

Very strangely placed tv specials, as they are just 2 random episodes after the anime has already been finished. They are also in no way relevant to the story, which is probably why they weren't originally adapted. One episode is a beach episode and the other is a pool episode, which is hilarious because of course we needed these two obligatory episodes to finish off a romance harem anime. I think the second episode mainly serves to deepen Yotsuba, while the first episode is all about how Futarou feels about the quintuplets. If you are a fan of the series, you can watch it, but ... you don't have to.
