This wasn't a film. It was the first half of a film that was somehow released in theaters.
The animation was phenomenal and the voice acting was alright because a lot of the English voice acting was oddly delivered, but it's fine I guess. The plot was interesting, but then the film just ended abruptly right when things were getting interesting. It's a case where a film is actually too short for the story it wants to tell.
It's a film that definitely needs a longer version because it feels like the first half of a much larger plot that just never happened.

This was phenomenal and I wish that more people watch this.
The animation was stunning for it's time and the writing was incredible. The way the love triangle between Hikaru, Minmay, and Misa was very interesting and they all really good chemistry with each other. The voice acting was just something else and I may have shed a tear or two during a pivotal scene that I won't spoil here. The film perfectly balanced action with romance and that's something quite a bit of films don't really know how to do. The pacing was a bit slow at times, but it's still a near perfect film. I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would actually.
The animation was stunning for the most part, but the CGI was a bit awkward sometimes because it has that early 2000s vibe on it and it takes a bit to get used to. The story was alright, I liked the whole thing where people from different eras acted with each other. The music was pretty good and I didn't really expect that dance number in the middle of the film. Wow, I never thought I would find a bad movie tonight, but I did.
The only positive thing I can say about this film was the art style, which was beautiful to look at. As Roger Ebert said, I hated this movie. Hated, hated, hated, hated, hated it. The film is very exploitive towards women and it's to an uncomfortable degree, which I guess the filmmakers were going for, but you could've at least shown it in a way that doesn't feel like you're giving the audience something to wack off to because we didn't need to see Jeanne getting sexually assaulted 5 times in the ...

Jesus Christ....I can't even process what I just watched.
I genuinely haven't felt like this since I watched Evangelion back in 2023 when I was a 16 year old kid who was just getting into anime. I feel like I just watched something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare. How in the hell does someone come up with a story like this?
