Honestly I was hyped when the teaser came out. Here I was, hoping it would be a badass dark fantasy with some psychological aspects to it, but sadly I was left disappointed. It wasn't anything special or worthwhile really. I thought it was going to be berserk levels of dark, which it had some moments of darkness, but I felt those dark moments were made only as shock value, there wasn't any depth to it. I'm looking at you episode 1. This anime also just wasn't that interesting, maybe the light novel and manga are better. I should give them a read.

So I watched these new films. I was so excited to finally see my favorite arc of the manga adapted, but unfortunately I was left disappointed to the point where I started questioning why I even loved the Stars arc to begin with. Even with all that I still somewhat enjoyed the films. I didn't like the pacing though and I just felt like the deaths of the characters were rushed. I wish we had more time to spend with them. If I were the writer for sailor moon I would've definitely have added extra scenes with the group of sailor guardians to help flesh
