I'm not usually the one to write a review for a manga/manwha, etc. that isn't a yuri.
But I'll make an exception here because it really is just THAT good and THAT underrrated.
It starts off pretty slow but pretty good, to avoid spoilers I'll just explain what made it so great.
Characters: 10/10, Characters are without a doubt the most important part of the story, having excellent characters alone can make for a masterpiece regardless of anything else.
It REALLY takes it's time fleshing out the side characters, I mean, we got 14 chapters straight dedicated to one side character. ONE. And it was absolute cinema, I went

If tales of formidable and intriguing female leads captivate you, this narrative is a must-read! This Webtoon, a blend of romance, fantasy, and drama, ranks among the finest I’ve encountered. It boasts exceptional artwork, compelling characters, and masterful storytelling.
The female protagonist, Hildegar, is a character of depth and complexity. She’s an enigma - beautiful, formidable, and burdened with a terrible power and a sorrowful history. Her character left a profound impression on me, and I’m surprised I’ve only discovered this narrative recently. It’s a gem that deserves a wider readership! The male lead diverges from the typical romantic hero. He’s driven by a strong determination to ... Dec 12, 2024
Well… it’s a pretty solid manhwa to read. The title becomes meaningful after a few chapters, serving as a unique and fitting association with the story.
The plot itself isn’t overly complex, but it already shows some depth and intricate details, making the universe more vivid compared to its peers. The male protagonist is well-developed, with a personality that strikes a good balance between bravery and cowardice. He’s pleasant to follow—neither too foolish nor overly intelligent—but his main strengths are his brightness and social skills. These are traits often attributed to female characters in shounen series, which is a common trope in the romance genre (e.g., Sono ... Feb 6, 2026
I usually don't write reviews, but this series deserves a spot in my Hall of Fame. To summarize, the premise is a classic enemies-to-lovers tale, imagine Romeo & Juliet, but set in a fantasy world where the trauma of war is the real barrier.
What makes The Spark in Your Eyes stand out is what it avoids. There are no harem tropes, no generic "zero-to-hero" power fantasies, and no convoluted plot points forced in for drama. The story is straightforward with a clear goal (finding a cure), allowing the author to focus entirely on the execution. Why read it? The Perspective: It’s not just black and white. We ... This manhwa is almost perfect. I don't really want to spoil much but if you like romance and medieval dramas this one is probably perfect for you. The romance is done in a brilliant way, the side characters feel important, and there isn't really any one individual who holds absolute power in the story. HOWEVER one of the side characters who I found so compelling and was my favorite throughout had a pretty lack luster conclusion. His character arc felt like it was setting up to be great but it fell flat in the end which was very disappointing because of how much depth he
