Reincarnation no Kaben

There exists an object known as the "Branch of Reincarnation" that can grant people the talents of the past lives, so long as they slit their own throat with it.

Touya Senji is a teenage boy struggling with low self-esteem after growing up in the shadow of his gifted older brother. He comes to the decision that academic studies are his last resort in the search for talent, but fails to find satisfaction despite constantly placing in the top 100 for national mock exams.

In a twist of fate, Touya encounters one of his classmates, Haito Luo Buffett, a "Returner" who has resurrected the talents of her past life using the Branch of Reincarnation, as she fights against a serial killer.

Glazing as a descriptor would not encompass how much I love this show. This show is simply exquisite.

Anyways, I really RELLY REALLY like this show. Heck (excuse my language but its that serious) I LOVE this show. THe MC is just like me fr (forreal if you don't know, its slang). I would say this show is solo no diffs the big three (especially naruto f naturo). This show also low diffs kodomo no jinkan (but only ... barely). The OP is # (hashtag) BANGING, and I mean BANGING. Everytime I hear it I go crazy goblin mode, and my mother yells at me but only for a little bit so the music I can keep hearing. The characters are really well-rounded and give a depth to the world introduced. Henrietta Luo Buffet (or whatever her name is) is actually my waifu and I have taped a picture of her onto my bodypillow. I wish I was also talented like Toya, and he is basically ayanokoji who is basically ME. I manipulated my teacher, and she changed my grade from a D to a C-. That's what I call a EPIC HYPE AURA MOMENT.

I hate Toya's big brother because I understand his pain. My big brother keeps bullying me but I'll show him when I get my deathnote! (I ordered it from japan). I'm so hungry. I don't remember the big brother's name let me google it really quickly. Petlas of reincarnation big brother Senji Seiya. Seiya is actually like super evil spoilers but yeah you shold really hate him he SUCKS. He is like Mavrick Trevillian, he really let the 6-7 get to his head smh.

Lwk if a youtuber made a lore iceberg it would have to be like six or seven hours long because the lore is so epically juicy omg. I would eat pizza to it fr fr (forreal x 2).

Mixed Feelings

For clarity, i rated this a 10 simply for nostalgia and how I felt when reading the manga when I did.

Not the greatest plot but it's definitely different and has a unique atmosphere about it. If you're a fan of the manga you're bound to be disappointed but it is an enjoyable story nonetheless from my perspective and the lackluster animation doesn't change that.

Read this in a very dark place in my life and it gave me strength when i thought I had none left.

IRL anime rating would be a 6/10 if i had no bias. Good but not great.

I will open this review by saying, I don't entirely hate the anime, in fact there is a lot that I like that you might like too. Some of which are the art style and the OST.

Plot/Story
I'll keep it brief because I'm dropping the series.

It's a story about revenge, reincarnation, and operation. The power? They use a power which they call it returner. To use it, you have to die and connected with an important person or rather a "Hero" in the past.

Past that point? Discover it yourself.

The reason I'm dropping this is because they accelarate the plot waaaay too fast. And I got deja vu again because of how they introduce an insane amount of characters in the second episode. Man, Chain Chronicle really did number on me.

So yeah, before I got too dissapointed I'd rather close the book early.

Great.
I thought it was a good time listening to some of it.

The OP not too bad, the ED also not too bad.

Animation
Actually great.
The fact that they have the most eye-chatching art this season blows my mind. They also have it animated beautifully.
