Isekai no Sata wa Shachiku Shidai
Both are BL Isekai where the main character gets together with a supposedly cold MC who treats them differently because they fall in love, they're both kind of harem in that the other world they fall into is full of Ikemen that love/like/want to protect the main character. In Odayaka the love relationship is implied but it's straightforward in Isaekai no Sata. In Odayaka MC is a noble who comes from a very similar world to the one he falls into while in Isekai no Sata the MC comes from modern day Japan. They're both warm, relaxing watches.

In short, two anime not enough known to my taste and which are quite similar despite their opposite themes.

ReLIFE
Anime: Koori no Jouheki

Koori no Jouheki
Both stories lean heavily into coming-of-age themes and self-acceptance, with their core development unfolding gradually. In ReLIFE, Arata is focused on fixing his future, while Koori no Jouheki follows Koyun as she works through her past trauma. The progression in both series feels natural, starting from personal struggles, then expanding into conflicts within friendships, and eventually touching on romance. What makes Koori no Jouheki and ReLIFE stand out is how romance isn’t pushed as a central subplot right from the beginning, which actually works really well for both of them.

Alien Stage
Despite Alien Stage and Link Click/Shiguang Dailiren taking place in different eras and settings (with Alien Stage taking place in a futuristic, dystopian sci-fi setting while Link Click takes place in a more modern setting with some characters having some kind of ability), they both still end up giving you a rather similar feeling after finishing it. An empty, gaping hole in your chest./hj Both of these franchises include our favorite black & white doomed yaoi trope/lh, but they also tackle similar themes such as loss, guilt, longing, regression, grief and so on. Both of these shows have a more heavy focus on the character's relationships and how that develops them. Both shows also make use of symbolism to tell their story at times (though Alien Stage naturally makes more use of this due to utilizing a more graphic storytelling writing style). If you enjoy analyzing the little details of the plot and characters (like me) you're for sure to love these shows as well! (⸝⸝> ᴗ•⸝⸝)

From Ep 4 till 7 they were just flying, The dialogues were so LOOOONG. Steins;Gate and Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World are two extremely famous anime in the time travel genre for any anime fan. Both produced by White Fox, their stories feature main characters with special abilities that allow them to alter timelines. However, the cost of that power is incredibly high—it forces them to watch tragedies repeat over and over again with seemingly no escape. In Re:Zero, Subaru falls into despair when he cannot save his friends, helplessly watching Emilia die. But thanks to Rem’s encouragement, he manages to regain the strength to keep going. Okabe faces a similar struggle. He is unable to save both Kurisu and Mayuri, forcing him to live in a world where only one can survive. Watching Mayuri die again and again suffocates him emotionally, until he eventually finds motivation and support from others to overcome that trial. Both stories show just how far the cost of changing time can go—and how incredibly expensive peace and happiness truly are.

you will like yama no susume (as a franchise) if you admire the creativity of the staff behind kamiina botan. the original mangaka of kamiina did key animation for two episodes of yama no susume, and i imagine because of this tons of people involved with that anime became involved with his manga adaptation (kamiina botan). including the director of yama no susume himself, and as of episode three, 3 out of 4 people credited with episode direction were involved with ymn, as well as both the character designer and sub-character designer for kamiina botan. so yeah. some people, myself included, saw yama no susume as sort of a playground for animators, or at least it was cool to see how many talented people from across the industry came to work together on one simple cgdct project, sort of out of passion and the love of the craft. so it's cool to see something similar happening again.

Liar Game
Well, might be obvious for some, Liar Game has been a typical "recommended manga after watching Kaiji" for years, but now maybe we should do the reverse, for the newcomers that might not know about Kaiji. If you enjoy (or even more if you don't) Liar Game, you might want to try Kaiji, with the risk of learning what a good anime actually is (not saying that Liar Game is bad, just... read the manga).

Humanity fight kaiju to the death. Godzilla 1: Kaijuu Wakusei is set in space and post-apocalyptic Earth. Humans along with beings from another planet unite to fight Godzilla to reclaim Mother Earth. Whereas, Kaiju No. 8 is set mostly on Earth and in Japan. Humans fight extraterrestrial kaiju but are better equipped at fighting them compared to the humans in Godzilla 1 despite their advanced artilleries and extraterrestrial intelligence and technology. Godzilla 1 has Godzilla as the main threat plus other small fries while Kaiju No. 8 has tons of different menacing kaijus.

Toaru Ossan no VRMMO Katsudouki
Both stories focus on VRMMORPG plotlines revolving around a specific character who by happenstance comes across unique content and diverges from the standard storyline. Toaru Ossan is very generic with an easily relatable MC who feels bland in an intended manner to provide widespread relatability, whereas Shangri-La has a very particular MC who is a hardcore gamer in the sense that he enjoys learning to exploit games that have terrible user controls. IIRC both feature a sort of overarching developer subplot as well.
