Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

When Subaru Natsuki leaves the convenience store, the last thing he expects is to be wrenched from his everyday life and dropped into a fantasy world. Things are not looking good for the bewildered teenager; however, not long after his arrival, he is attacked by some thugs. Armed with only a bag of groceries and a now useless cell phone, he is quickly beaten to a pulp. Fortunately, a mysterious beauty named Satella, in hot pursuit after the one who stole her insignia, happens upon Subaru and saves him. In order to thank the honest and kindhearted girl, Subaru offers to help in her search, and later that night, he even finds the whereabouts of that which she seeks. But unbeknownst to them, a much darker force stalks the pair from the shadows, and just minutes after locating the insignia, Subaru and Satella are brutally murdered.

However, Subaru immediately reawakens to a familiar scene—confronted by the same group of thugs, meeting Satella all over again—the enigma deepens as history inexplicably repeats itself.

Subaru’s "Return by Death" transforms the viewer into a detective, turning each gruesome loop into a high-stakes puzzle where progress is paid for in blood. While his struggle is dark and voyeuristic, the real draw is the unyielding grit required to move forward. What some dismiss as plot holes are actually the show’s ... deepest mysteries.

Though the plot can be as dense and messy as a room full of uncatalogued treasures, the robust world-building and high stakes demand full attention. By having the courage to break its protagonist and refusing to provide easy answers, Re:Zero earns a definitive 9/10 as a masterclass in psychological storytelling.

Mixed Feelings

I found this Isekai pretty interesting back in 2016, a fresh idea of an Isekai.

A boy that everytime he dies, he comes back to a "save point", is a pretty good idea. In the first time, I found Subaru pretty annoying, and more after what happened in chapter 18. The style of this anime is just according to the times. Besides, I'm reading the light novel and some scenes of the anime come to my mind as I read the novels, just as that time when Julius had that duel with Subaru.
If you are a fan of the Isekai type, this could be a ... must watch.

The plot isn’t really that interesting, it’s just generic fantasy which many shows have in common. The story has to do with the main character having a time loop power and when he dies he revives and rewinds the plot. So boring that I have to see the same situation and scene all over again. It looks like I had a game over a thousand times from a telltale game.

Why does this show about the worst main character I have ever seen? I absolutely don’t like Subaru for being the worst character that I have to say many ways to describe him. ... He is so….

Stupid - He is not a smart person and always makes poor decisions, which is why he keeps dying and reviving and yet he doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Weird - Talking so loud like he thinks he was on a stage drama and obsessed with girls. Flirting with Emelia who she gets hated by many people. So harem that he is pretty bad at catching them.

Useless - Every fight, Subaru does absolutely nothing because he has no powers to attack his foe like he is so powerless, then he is gonna just run around and get everyone else to do it for him. Like how is that even considered contributing?

Unskilled, He has no talent, there's nothing he is really good at or any experience. Good for nothing.


Nothing I can find benefiting about him, pathetic loser. And does he have growth and development? Well it takes too long or he struggles.
