I don't mind web development, Sure i prefer the outcome of game development, you get a game to play in the end. However web development is still fun and gives a satisfying ending after all. That bowling ball stuff is stupid, before a assignment is assigned the teacher should complete it at an A standard as an exemplar so the students know exactly what the curriculum is looking for. As for having to complete things quickly it's the complete opposite where I live, I just don't spend enough time paying attention in class and that's completely on me when I get bad grades, I just have the lack of motivation. That's true most people on this site are only here for the anime but there is many other things to the MAL community as we are all our own persons with unique hobbies and interests. I don't spend much time programming these days because I focus more on music and Language learning as my main studies. I've been learning Japanese for about a year and a few months now and the absolute first step is learning Hiragana and Katakana. Trust me if you can't read or write anything it's going to make everything so much more difficult. I also suggest following a structured course like a textbook but also combine that with listening to native Japanese people speak, speak every sentence you read to improve pronunciation and practice kanji and revise words often. I wish it was as easy as just using visual novels and anime but every word is going to go over your head, for a while you will need to rewind the episode and listen to what they're saying over and over, and good luck with visual novels before you learn kanji structure and base meanings, kanji combinations change meaning entirely. I'd say use Duolingo but it's just AI slop now, I seriously just wanna cancel my subscription and find another app, the AI sucks entirely. I'd suggest a textbook and maybe make some Japanese friends too!
