I'm also going to go ahead and not recommend this one.
The art is kinda great. It maybe the best thing about this manga. This is of course a review of the manga version not the also released webtoon version or the upcoming anime adaption. I'm not a big enough nerd to know about TATE a lot or anything but it's just fantastic. The backgrounds, the monsters are all really really good. The character design is a bit basic though. For a while I thought the main character was going to be Guts but with an Axe instead they ended up as just a young

guts but with a sword. Since anyone reading this knows Beserk I don't need to say anymore.
I like the MC but the world building is kind of I don't want to say stupid or nonsensical. It's just not relevant to the story. That's the most polite way I can frame the idea that in a world where consuming the flesh of a monster is disgusting like sleeping with your brother and yet it NEVER comes to relevance. He doesn't lose anything for eating monster flesh. Pure gains like a gym bro downing powered peanut butter before his curls. Before monster flesh even comes into play. We're subjected to "oh that class is the worst of them all" syndrome. It's one thing to say in a world of wizards, swordsmen are inferior. In a world of fighters, the support is inferior. In a world of blessings the cursed is inferior. Of course they all end up being proven wrong but you're never quite sure why the hero is seen as inferior here. He's immune to poisons so he can go into the poison field with no prep or extra gear for unlimited time. That alone is incredible. Plus it's not like an exclusive poisoned dungeon that he gets to explore. EVERYONE is going over the poison areas he's just better at it. The excuse for this manga is that he smells. I'm not even sure if he does smell or everyone just says that because staying all days in the poison gas is gross. That appears to be it.
The ENTIRE impetus for the MC's station in life is that people call him smelly. I don't understand why he hasn't been training on poison rats and built himself up and there's nothing in the story that prevents him from leveling up solo. This isn't even the type of story that says you can't kill solo you need team. All of this and there's still another reveal to his power I haven't mentioned. Not because it's hidden or we find out later in the manga. It's all there in front. He's not immune to poison. He's immune to ALL NEGATIVE STATUS EFFECTS. He can't get poison. He can't get drunk. He can't get blindness. He can't get cursed. He can't get anything other than full. At one point he laments "Oh why couldn't I have a normal power" dude you're immune to EVERYTHING.

And all of this is the setup they want me to buy into. An adventurer who is immune to everything is the lowest man on the totem pole even though he's polite and friendly and outgoing and has fairly thick skin. The fact that he discovers eating monster meat gives him monster powers instead of death just turns an interestingly powered character into generic. The only power of interest here is sacrifice. Where you take the hit for someone else. With that power and his immunity he can take any negative status away. Everything else here is taking away from his journey. Imagine if in One Piece (I don't consume OP) Luffy eat the fruit that gave him the power and then he ate more fruit that gave him more powers. I mean yes I'm describing Fruitmaster but the point stands. If Naruto leans all the ninja powers why does he bother training any of them. I've already dropped this one below average for taking a great idea (pure immunity) and ruining it. But now that I've phrased it like this I'm dropping it another point because it really is just generic slop. It's pretty. but generic and uninteresting.
There are better monster eaters. I'll have look up the names later but there's one where a kid has to hunt down Kaiju in order to serve it to his childhood friend to see if the right Kaiju meat can regrow her arm. There's another where the MC gets power from eating but then his really strong attacks cost him levels forcing him in a constant cycle of consuming in order to relevel.
