Synopsis

Hikari's your typical freshmen in high school who's been recently daydreaming about Mari's, her shy best friend, love story. She decides to ship Mari with Ootani-kun, their classmate, after finding out about his crush on Mari when his friend, Asagiri-kun, tried getting the two to talk. The main character is Mari, the leading man is Ootani, and Hikari is the typical best friend in the story. Not bad... right? A youthful story between four kids going through unrequited love.

I don't usually write reviews but I couldn't help but do it after seeing this manga doesn't seem to be as recognised as it should.

I started reading this whith very low expectations, I don't know if it's because of al the bullshit I've been reading recently or just because the score in MAL was "low" (a seven and a half is not that bad but, you know, it ain't high either), but I ended up really liking it. The characters are really well-written and the story is really enjoyable or, at least, it has been from what I've read.

Ah, shoujo. Usually I can be quite picky with this genre, but I truly did not expect this one to be such a gem.

Let’s get straight into it. My favorite thing is the art, no question about it. And by that I don’t just mean how it looks artistically, but how the art itself is used to the story’s advantage. I'm writing a review because I don't plan on reading any more. I've only read up to chapter 18, so this is my opinion on them.

It wasn't what I expected. What I thought it would be was Hikari developing her story. It starts like that and I identified with it right away. The thing is: she has a secondary character complex and feels bad about it. So, in her own manga, she becomes a secondary character.
