Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo

Rentarou Aijou has it all: looks, intelligence, athletic skill, and popularity with peers and mentors alike. Unfortunately, none of these qualities help Rentarou with his love life. On the day of his middle school graduation, he is once again turned down by a girl he confesses to, earning his one-hundredth rejection in a row. Down on his luck, he goes to a matchmaking shrine and wishes to finally get a girlfriend in high school.

When the god of the shrine suddenly appears before him, Rentarou is told he will meet an astronomical total of one hundred soulmates in high school. Though Rentarou initially does not take this foretelling seriously, his doubts disappear when, on the first day of school, he meets two of these soulmates—Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda—who both confess to him. With fated encounters and love confessions galore, Rentarou's life is about to get a lot more exciting.

After binge watching season 1 and 2, the most I laughed in a long time. Every episode was amazing, the girls are interesting, distinct. I normally dislike harem, but this one strikes a perfect balance. Really like how they revisit characters and explore each of them in more depth. So far they are doing an amazing job with the anime. The story is unique even if it may be a little predictable, they do a good job of handling cliches. Art style was perfect, i'm not really an ecchi fan but I enjoyed watching the show because of how interesting was. IF they are able ... to maintain this pace and keep fully flushing out characters this will be one of the best rom-com animes. Gonna be like One Piece.

Mixed Feelings

First off, let's make one thing clear: This is the epithome of crack comedy, so if you analyze it through the same lens you'd do with any other anime or if you look for logic or verisimilitude, you lose. I think the point here to grant you an anime where the male lead goes through all possible romantic situations with every anime female character cliche you can imagine and, in the process, make you laugh from the absurdity of this very idea and the situations that could arise from such setting. On this matter, the show does deliver that. It's hilarious how the characters realize ... the INSANITY of what's happening and then turn around and go have lunch together like "you know what? this is fine". I laughed every episode, I thought the cookie-cutter characters were well used in terms of comedy and I genuinely liked the male lead's personality, that's why I'm giving it such a high rating.

But yeah, fair warning, you should sit this one out if you are bothered by oversexualized body types or lolis, sexualization of teenager characters and any form of romantic interaction between them and adult characters. Jesus, this has so many red flags lmao If you decide to give it a chance, my tip is: watch how you feel about the first two episodes. If you laugh and get curious, that's a green light. If it bothers you for any reason other than the male lead's apparent "Nice Guy" speech (he's really not like that), better drop it cause it only gets more on crack. Good luck!

So, I don't really get this one. Really. I watched a lot of other anime I could categorize as "slop" such as Vermeil in Gold, Quintessential Quintuplets, Plus-Sized Elf, Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four, and I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate but all of them had redeeming qualities to them, with either the premise being unique, being honest about it's nature, or just being really funny.
But the comedy of this one just could not hit me, nor could the characters, "interesting premise" or anything else.
The comedy seems to revolve around the plot holes, tropes and rather silly ... characters. But it's not actively criticizing them, making fun of, deconstructing or challenging them or anything like that, something that other anime like this with a lower rating on this website have done. The only challenge the protagonist has of getting the girl is understanding them as they both like each other already, and he just has one hundred girls that like him devoutly because 100 girls rejected him, but even that was simply glossed over.
It's not about his struggle. It's not about him trying to get a girlfriend since at the start of the anime it was revealed that he will simply meet his soulmates as he goes along with life. The most respectable parts of the anime is the parts where he has to bridge the gap to understand another girl, but even then this isn't even half of the season, sans the first two girls which he just obtains like starter pokemon, there's an episode for each girl, and what is in-between is entirely irrelevant.
This show is dime-a-dozen slop, and I'm tired of people pretending it's not just because some of the girls are cute.
