They say death is the strongest fear, and I agree with that. No matter how competent and in control someone may be, death can still be out of their hands and show itself at any moment, without discernment, to make them fade away from existence.

But maybe your greatest fear is something else. What would it be? War? Pain? Aging? Loneliness? The choices are plenty.

Death, but specifically dying alone, no wife, no kids, no friends, nothing.

Death of family and friends really. Being alone scares me, more than dying itself. I guess the other fear is just more a fear for humanity in general. I can be quite misanthropic but I still kinda want human history to have a point, a future, an at least, acceptable one. I don't know if that will be the case.

Not being in control of my own mind. 2 of my closest family members had numerous mental breaks. I'm surprised it hasn't happened to me as I've experienced a lot of trauma and I think I'm mentally very weak.

Death is the one thing certain for everyone, if you accept that it is out of your control then the fear goes or at least lessens. My biggest fear would be going to Jahannam.

I'm basic and boring, my answer is death. Worse yet, dying alone.

@JaniSIr Don't worry! I knew quite a few people who had a spouse and children but still managed to die alone.

@Zarutaku I don't know about where you live, but here in Quebec you can sign an advance request allowing you to receive medical assistance in dying if you ever end up with dementia or Alzheimer's.

I'm not skittish, I don't have fears.
Big bugs and rats, but I'm more grossed out and disturbed than afraid.

@JaniSIr you have 27 friends lol.

The only thing I have to fear, is fear itself; and spiders.
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to suffering.
There are fates worst than death, I hope I don't live long enough to experience it.

What have I done?!
It's too late for me now.
I guess I won't be the sane
level 5 of Academy City anymore.

As for something less "deep", I suppose driving?

I genuinely do not know, i could say that it's to be fully alone but like, i have never experienced it, so i can't really imagine how it is, feeling lonely and genuinely being all alone isn't the same

Not being in control of my body. Barbaric torture, being stranded in space, tetraplegia or paralysis sounds terrifying. I guess right next to it would be losing one of my 5 senses -especially vision, earing or touch- or an important part of my body. Being caught in a time loop like in Endless Eight (consciously like Yuuki) also sounds like temporal torture, but luckily it's fiction ... right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sa%E1%B9%83s%C4%81ra ...

@fleurbleue In many ways they are better. Through the internet conversations are more open and honest people can be themselves. I do mean conversations not people trolling or slinging shit at each other.

People don't always have time visit or meet up irl but we always got time text or voice chat.

Traditional real friendships kinda dead, most friends nowadays I see few tines out the year. Online don't got problem I could text or email were good.

@fleurbleue If you were to somehow meet up irl, but it's not like that would actually happen.

That was a joke btw, I don't actually own a fedora.

@AmityBlight I guess I am different, I always had difficulties maintaining online relationships if I never managed to eventually meet the person IRL. I still heavily associate friendship with physical proximity, so even with online chats, I somehow consider people online good acquaintances at best. But the internet is indeed super convenient since I do only meet most of my friends a couple of times a year.

It does happen, at least I've met quite a few online friends IRL and am still friends with them to this day. Maybe your negativity is exactly what's keeping you isolated.

I might actually be more afraid of a sudden stroke or heart attack that makes me faint before I manage to call an ambulance.

Death because I don't know what happens after death and if the soul actually exists what if I get sent to hell. I've read about people with near death experiences who described hell and it's horrible.

@ssvmdh Pretty sure a man can still have an orgasm without a prostate, you just won't produce any sperm. Shouldn't you be more afraid of someone chopping your balls off, thus killing most of your sex drive?

@fleurbleue Yeah mate, it is scary...
But you can have an accident on the kitchen and burn the hell of also,
so it is just an accident.
What I am talking about is like, you are having a sexy girlfrend-

And you are living a happy life, and one day you penis just stops working, and fuck - no more sperm....
And your baybe starts to cheat you with other mens... Maybe even dont hide it from you...
It is the baddest curse for a man...
And then you see her on TV with another man-

And, when she comes back to you, on your question where you have been? - She answers - at my mom place, she felt sick...

@JaniSIr I don't know exactly where you live, but I think you're European? I'm not sure. Countries there are pretty small, though. Gosh, I've traveled distances within my own province that are equivalent to going from Paris to London. So I don't think meeting up with people could be that hard, especially if you decide to meet halfway.

@fleurbleue The countries might be small, but right now I wouldn't call myself "online friends" with anyone from my country...

And you know the saying: 500 years is not much in Europe, 500kms is not much in America.
