That would imply the majority can never be evil, unless they consider themselves evil, which the majority never does.

Evil is a category applied to individuals, not to abstractions such as “the majority” as a collective entity. Keep in mind that I am not claiming that society’s definitions of good and evil are necessarily valid, on the contrary, they are often harmful. Nor am I saying that the proponents of such moral frameworks live up to their own standards, but that is irrelevant to the point at hand, which is discussing whether you would be considered good or evil from a societal standpoint.

@Lucifrost I'll assume that's sarcasm since there was no way I could have known the guy. Any joy I felt came from my disdain for the American healthcare system rather than from personal hatred toward the victim, I'd say. I'm not one to wish for bloody violence, but I'm not perfect either, and sometimes my empathy just doesn't want to kick in for some people. We're all sinners, after all.

For record I don't think you're evil just sorta misguided like most people. I'm misguided in some ways too.

@AmityBlight It has more to do with the fact that stating Hitler was evil would generally be considered a pretty non-controversial statement that most people would agree with, while thinking the contrary might actually get you labeled as evil. So thinking someone is evil doesn't necessarily have to do with projection.

I can't say I know you too well, our interactions are pretty scarce. I do perceive you as someone with somewhat of an abrasive personality, though.
