Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen - Ryoushu no Youjo

As someone who has read all the light novels, Season 4 unfortunately feels significantly rushed.

A lot of critical details and context from the source material are missing, which ends up affecting the core strength of the story. One of the biggest impacts is on the characters — their personalities, motivations, and backgrounds feel underdeveloped because much of the nuance has been cut.

As a result:

Character actions can feel abrupt or confusing
Emotional moments don’t land as strongly
The overall pacing feels too fast, especially for major plot developments

In the novels, these moments are carefully built up with internal thoughts, world-building, and character interactions. Without that foundation, the anime ... version comes across as a condensed version rather than a fully realized adaptation.

It’s still great to see the story animated, and the core narrative is intact, but for fans of the books, this season may feel like it’s missing the depth that makes Ascendance of a Bookworm so compelling.
