I get what you're saying, that it feels like cheating to bypass the official publishing route. But you know, there is also an intense amount of scrutiny when it comes to choosing a work to be adapted into an anime. Perhaps even more so than when deciding what manuscripts get officially published, since there are far fewer anime than written works out there. So the fact that something like this got chosen to be animated has got to say something about how good the producers think this could be, regardless of where it originated.
You could look at the Narou site as a collection of manuscripts that are also available for the public to view, and after a grueling selection process that includes a popularity contest, the most worthwhile ones get chosen. It just doesn't seem that different than the traditional route to me, just with a bit of modern flair added in.

I think there's a difference between author pitching ideas, creating one shots/pilots and then it being a 50/50 weither or not it pleases the publishers to pass to get an official publication/starts becoming a series endorsed by the publisher
That's what most literature goes through including manga and LNs created from the ground up and it indeed kinda unfair to some but it also filters out rather uninteresting looking ideas
If these started off like that then only 1% would've passed cause no publisher would approve of so maney samey shows with overly long titles that love to put the word isekai in their names
But since Narou and sites like it don't have that barrier of entry like actual literature goes through
No
Instead it lets anyone with an internet connection write whatever story they wanna make
That alone is fine and I don't mind a Japanese version of Fanfiction.net existing
However I think that after the first two Narou anime adaptations those being Mahouka and Log Horizon , production companies like Kadokawa relauzed the endless abyss that Narou and sites like it are for stories to grab and enter the Web to LN to Anime pipeline that's still going on to this day
The amount of amateur writing on display presented every season since most of the anime get adapted from it is unbelievable
There's good but the amount of bad and uninteresting eclipses it no thanks to the "source" of the material being the way it's

@nachomaxo1 Everyone has no prior writing credits at some point. You have to start somewhere. And they don't just pull these web novels out of a hat. They choose the better ones of course.

I say
It has a high chance of being that cause it's source material aka web novel that was made by someone with no prior writing credits because sites like Narou just exist for that since they're open for everyone

On the one hand, it looks a lot like slop on the other, a lot of the staff involved were also involved with Bad Girl and I quite enjoyed that show, so perhaps it'll be worth keeping an eye on.

Ok I rolled my eyes at the title, but the trailer actually looks kinda good? The background art is nice.
