Jujutsu Kaisen: Shimetsu Kaiyuu - Zenpen

Kenjaku, the one known as Noritoshi Kamo and most recently as Suguru Getou, has initiated the next step in his destructive, thousand-year plan of ordinary humans' evolution and eventual eradication. The jujutsu world higher-ups reinstate 15-year-old Yuuji Itadori's execution, as Satoru Gojou is incapacitated as a result of Kenjaku's master plan in Shibuya. While Yuuji is unaware of this, he patrols the abandoned Tokyo streets with Chousou, exterminating any and all cursed spirits in his way.

Meanwhile, the bigoted and arrogant Naoya Zenin's pride takes a hit when Megumi Fushiguro is selected as the Zenin Clan's next head. To draw out Megumi and eliminate him, he goes after Yuuji—but Yuuta Okkotsu is set on being Yuuji's executioner. Kenjaku's "Culling Game"—a rigorous battle royale spanning throughout Japan and forcing the jujutsu competitors to kill each other—is set in motion, and the young jujutsu sorcerers join the fray to settle old scores, free Gojou, and liberate the jujutsu world from the threat that is Kenjaku.

If my memory serves me right, this whole season is on par with the 10/10 episodes from season 2. The fights are, as always, stunning, and the art is too. I had thought the mass introduction of new characters would be too overwhelming, but I kept up, and it didn't feel like I was getting smacked with new people each second. Higuruma was one of the new characters I loved the most. My one little nitpick for this season would be the ending of ep 12, which I believe more fight scenes could've been added instead of deserts. It definitely felt rushed, but I still ... liked it, and that little bit didn't make me want to make this a 9/10 instead of a 10/10.

Mixed Feelings

Honestly, my expectations were sky-high for a sequel that’s been three years in the making, but thanks to the sheer sloppiness of the production, it’s a total disaster. If the creators couldn't be bothered to put in the effort, I’m certainly not going to exhaust myself trying to break down every single flaw.

This season feels like filler, though calling it that feels like an insult to Bleach’s filler arcs—at least those had some effort behind them. We’re served meaningless episodes clearly designed just to drag the series out. The music choices felt completely disconnected from the narrative, failing to capture the right atmosphere. The pacing ... is a mess; the show wastes entire episodes on trivial nonsense, yet when it finally touches on canon material, everything feels rushed and "blink-and-you-miss-it."

I’m not some mindless action junkie, and I’ll admit the Yuta and Maki segments were actually quite good. However, a few solid character moments aren't nearly enough to carry an entire season. At the end of the day, I believe this lack of care will seriously dampen the hype for future seasons; it’s hard to stay invested when the production value takes such a massive hit.

Bro this season is actually so ahh and stupidly overrated The whole season is so gray it makes me think I'm colorblind The animation is pretty good but there are so many frames and smooth movements it makes it look uncanny There is no character development and emotion in the entire season The direction is so poor You can't keep track of anything At one moment they will be talking peacefully ten seconds later they are fighting
Last episode was fire ngl but it doesn't deserve to be like higher than 8.5 if being generous, I'm sorry but I don't like this season the first ... two seasons were good especially the second one it was full of energy but this season sucks
